Following graduation from UND, Devin flew for a hospital for four years before starting Cole Aviation in 2014 as a pilot services and flight instruction company. Cole Aviation has continued to provide continuous pilot services since that time while meeting the needs of many individual flight students and business people. In 2018, Devin joined the Valley In Flight team to provide initial and recurrent training, and mentoring in the Piper Matrix, Mirage/M350, and Meridian/M500 aircraft and the JetProp conversion. In 2020, Devin transferred all of these services to Cole Aviation LLC.
Devin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics from the University of North Dakota. He is an ATP/CFII/MEI with an FAA Gold Seal. Devin has logged over 7,000 total flight hours, including over 2,600 hours in the PA-46 series.
Active involvement in the aviation community is important to Devin. He is a past president of the North Dakota Pilot's Association, has been an active member of the Minot Site Committee for the ND Aviation Association Conference and the Planning Committee for the Minot Aviation Career Expo. Devin is a current board member of the North Dakota Aviation Association and serves on the Hall of Fame selection committee. He has been an AOPA member since 2006 and is the current Airport Support Network volunteer for the Minot airport. He is the current chair and a charter member of the Minot High School Aviation Advisory Committee. In addition, he is a member of the National Business Aviation Association.
Building strong relationships with flight students and clients is an important component for Devin. As passionate as Devin is about aviation, he works hard to make sure he makes time for his other love, his family.
